Final CD Advert
The results that I have received from the questionnaire have lead me to create this CD advert. I have followed the same ripped theme due to the result indicating that the audience liked the theme. However they disliked that there was no colour in the advert. I decided to add colour to the image so that it can attract attention to important and promotional information. As you can see I have used orange and yellow to gain this effect, I choose these colours as they attract the view eye without having to be as intense as red and blue. I have added the colours to the texts by using the effect called Outer Glow. This technique creates a glow of colour around the text that only affects the objects below it, thus making it standout. I have chosen to highlight the 'Featuring.....Again' writing because it’s a selling point to viewers, as they would think it must be a good song to be the most downloaded. I have also highlighted the releases date because it is important for the audience to know when it’s going to available. The results showed that there was a minor confusion on the genre. To overcome this I decided to add a quote from Zane Lowe a popular Radio 1 DJ who is known for playing rock music. The quote states 'Best new rock band' which instantly tells the audience that they are a band who play rock, this should stop the genre confusion. To attract attention this quote I added another ripped effect as I believe by giving its own section it attracts attention without the use of colour.
Once I had added the main text I felt that the adverts background was still to plain. I then decided to add writing that promoted the band, i.e. Best band, award winning, etc. I thought by having them below and at an angle it would make them more interesting and unique. However after doing this I still felt it was to plain and didn't catch my eye enough. I then decided to add shadows underneath the rips to give a interesting 3D effect.
One commenter said that the bottom space was to empty so I have added web address and store logos. The websites are links to the band Myspace and Youtube accounts so the audience are able to find out more information. The store logos are on there so the audience can tell were they can buy the ep.
I have decided that this CD advert should be placed into the magazine Keerang! Just like the band Keerang is know for its rock music and bands that are similar to ATWI have all had an article inside Keerang!. These bands Include You Me At Six, Panic at the Disco, etc.

CD Advert Idea 1...
This is a CD advert for my A2 media production to create a magazine advert for ATWI. In the creation of this I have gone back to looking at the cd adverts that I have analysed. I found that there are elements that it has to display, these involve the bands name, release date, album title, logo, and items that hint and the genre. Another item that I have noticed is that the CD advert has to look similar to the CD cover. Therefore I have cropped the front cover and added it to the top. This was so the CD would be noticeable, it also displays the bands name and the abbreviation (which is the album name).
I researched how the CD adverts had displayed the release date, from doing this I found that they always had the release date to small or unnoticeable. Due to these reason I decided to make it large and bold so that it can be clearly and easily read. I have also displayed it in a similar way to the abbreviation.
In researching adverts I noticed that some have positive quotes from magazines and newspapers. I decided to put in some similar quotes as I believed that this would increase the interest of the band If people thought the were ‘the band of the year’. These are displayed in a simple bold font to add attention and allow easy reading.
I decided to give the advert a ripped effect as I thought it would attract interest. I also think it gives a hint of the genre of the band. Although I think that when it comes out it should have more of genre hints.I also believe I need to add more items to make it look better and to entice the target audience of 16-25.
