CD Advert Idea 1...

This is a CD advert for my A2 media production to create a magazine advert for ATWI. In the creation of this I have gone back to looking at the  cd adverts that I have analysed. I found that there are elements that it has to display, these involve the bands name, release date, album title, logo, and items that hint and the genre. Another item that I have noticed is that the CD advert has to look similar to the CD cover. Therefore I have cropped the front cover and added it to the top. This was so the CD would be noticeable, it also displays the bands name and the abbreviation (which is the album name).
I researched how the CD adverts had displayed the release date, from doing this I found that they always had the release date to small or unnoticeable. Due to these reason I decided to make it large and bold so that it can be clearly and easily read. I have also displayed it in a similar way to the abbreviation.
In researching adverts I noticed that some have positive quotes from magazines and newspapers. I decided to put in some similar quotes as I believed that this would increase the interest of the band If people thought the were ‘the band of the year’. These are displayed in a simple bold font to add attention and allow easy reading.
I decided to give the advert a ripped effect as I thought it would attract interest. I also think it gives a hint of the genre of the band. Although I think that when it comes out it should have more of genre hints.I also believe I need to add more items to make it look better and to entice the target audience of 16-25.

Audience Feedback...

To receive audience feedback about the digipaks I asked people to comment on them. I asked the individuals the question of what one they preferred and the believed target audience for that digipak.

The result were very much one way, 90% of the audience preferred the Black digipak and only 10% liked the slow shutter theme.

The slow shutter digipak received mainly negative comments of 'It's to scruffy' and 'Theres to much going on'. However even though I intend for both the digipaks to have the same Target audience of Teenages to early 20's. Although one person who voted for it felt it was aimed for just teenagers. Due to this digipak only recieveing 10% of the votes I will not be using it for the bands finished digipak.

The digipak that I will be using is the one to the right, it received 90% of the votes. When I asked people why they had choosen this one i receieved around same resonpses. 'It's Striking', 'Looks Professional','Standsout', 'Unique' and more. When I asked them what target audience they felt it was for intended they answered Teenagers and early 20's. the target audience that I wanted to promote it to.

Funeral Party.

The words are coming out
I can feel it here deep in your mouth
Truth will reveal itself
No need to travel for a million miles
The years can't stay the same
I kept it easy so i couldn't complain
Let them make up your mind
Its a feeling you can never describe
Ooh
But even after all the things i said
You could be honest and be true and never realize what i wont do
Said to call it out, afraid to say
I don't recognize whats left of us i can't think of anything it was
And it was over before
All the things that i know that i could i would never leave you though i would
And I would say it's all because
You ask me why, i cannot lie
And if you shout
And i want out
You ask me why
Oh just because (3x)
The claimant change is really nothing new
I’m still lost 'cause i got something to do
I can figure out on my own time you were always late so you're never around
I know no one knows so you can be yourself
I keep you close and never let anyone out
And I stopped caring so push them aside fuck the things you want for the things you like
I get with the money and the swank apartment
I built a tower up into the sun
Let them follow every fallen empire
On the war they waged but never won
I figured out your world, from that today[?]
I swear to god i knew i would but if you give me reason to be good
I always force it out
The words to say
That I'll be honest and be good, you wouldn't leave me if i would
'Cause it was covered
All in disguise
Amazing anger like i lost my mind
Oh i can go, but i will stay
And I'll do it again you could put it away
Oh you can find a peace of mind
You ask me
Oh I can't lie
I figured out whats in a lie[?]
I found a way that i can go
I make it out through all the years
You ask me why
Oh just because (3x)

Digipak Design Two...

Digipak Two

From making the front cover plan I decided to follow it up by creating a full blown digipak. I found this one to be more sophisticated and stylish than the slow shutter digipak. However unlike this one the previous digipak showed more atmosphere of the band. Although I have added the lines to give a rock/messy theme that I felt represented the bands energetic side. Due to this being the digipak to be released by the band I felt it should have a picture of the band to represent them.

Digipak Design One...

Slow Shutter Digipak

I wanted to design the digipak on the sub-theme of the band being energetic, I thought that the best way to show this would be via a long exposure theme. I then made the front cover  which I believed displayed this. From that I made a draft digipak. Just like the digipaks that I looked into they all had themes that run throughout. The main theme is the use of the slow shutter effect, I have used this to create images such as the guitar, drums, microphone and CD in a long exposure effect. All these images that I have added promote the band. The instruments hint at a bands album instead of a solo artist and the AWTI writing is the initials of the band again promoting them. The style that is used also promotes, the bright colours are eye catching and attracts attention to the album.

Digipak Front Cover.

I have continued with the idea process in making a digipak for And The Winner Is… I started out by making the front cover and then developing the rest of the digipak from there. I decided to it this way as I found from analysing other digipaks they all had themes that related to the front cover.

I have come up with many ideas that I have drawn out but I decided to move to making them computer generated. From doing this it made it simpler and easier to develop ideas.

An idea that I had been developing for a while was this one. It was first just the name with the gradient effect on a black background, I liked the way it was stylish and sophisticated. How I felt it wasn’t the correct representation of a Rock/Punk band. At the same time I had been working on another idea of just the initials of the band, it looked good but I felt it could be better. I then had the idea of brining the two ideas together.

After some developing of the idea I came up with the final design. The cover looks stylish and sophisticated, yet with the use of the lines going through the white lines it looks mess and original everything that this rock band are.

Before the idea above I had been thinking of taking a picture on a long exposure so that it could capture light movement. I would take this picture while I would be writing the bands name, I believed that it would be interesting and creative.

Instead of having to take the photograph I decided it would be simpler to just design one via Photoshop. This is what I created after I developed the ideas of slow shutter effects.
